How we work
A clear process, so you know what happens and when
Most problems on building projects come from unclear expectations rather than poor workmanship. This is the sequence we follow on every job.
- 1
Enquiry
You supply basic details: the location, photographs, an approximate timescale and an indication of the work you are considering.
- 2
Initial review
We consider whether the project suits our service area, our availability and the type of work we undertake, and tell you honestly either way.
- 3
Site visit
The property is inspected and the project discussed on site. Where specialist design or structural advice will be needed, that is identified early rather than late.
- 4
Scope and estimate
You receive a written scope, an estimated cost and an anticipated programme, with assumptions, exclusions and any items requiring further investigation clearly stated.
- 5
Pre-construction
Drawings, permissions, Building Regulations requirements, material selections, access, waste arrangements and payment stages are confirmed before work starts.
- 6
Construction
The work is coordinated in a logical sequence, and you are kept informed about progress, decisions and any unforeseen conditions as they arise.
- 7
Completion
The work is inspected together, any final items are agreed, and the relevant information for the completed project is handed over.
Being straightforward about it
What we will not do
We do not price work we have not seen, we do not commit to programmes that depend on approvals nobody has applied for, and we do not take on projects that fall outside what we do well.
Where planning permission, Building Regulations approval or structural design is required, those must be obtained through the appropriate professionals. We will tell you what is needed and coordinate with the people providing it, but no builder can shortcut that process.
Start at stage one
Send the location, some photographs, a rough timescale and an outline of the work you are considering.
